Oakgrove Hatch – Vandamme Line

The OAKGROVE VANDAMME HATCH was developed by Kuya Danny Arruejo (DSA) after it arrived in the 1980s while the Yellow Legged Oakgrove Captain line was developed by Kuya Joe Alimbuyuguen (JAA).

Kuya Danny has been breeding these green leg and yellow legged Oakgrove hatches since the 1980s.  Kuya Danny started breeding in the late 1970s and is known among breeding circles to be the strictest among breeders with his patented “ruthless culling and selection” without prejudice!

He would cull and cull and cull regardless of how much the very expensive imported bloodlines from the USA would cost - until only a selected few are left behind. The most expensive “tinola and pulutan” were cooked whenever Kuya Danny is around!!!

Kuya Danny had been helping Eugene Tan and Alex Tang in their breeding programs and selection of their imported bloodlines for many years in the past.

These Oakgrove Hatch bloodlines came from the original Oakgrove Hatches of the late Eugene Brown imported by Jun Vera and Kuya Joe A back in the days of the J & J farm, during the 1980’s through Gene Brown.

These original Oakgrove Hatch imports featured a 5-year-old Yellow-Legged Oakgrove Hatch broodcock (hatched around 1975) from Eugene’s personal master yards, combined with 4 olive-green legged Oakgrove Hatch pullets.

When bred together, they proved the genetic depth of the family by consistently throwing both pure yellow-legged and olive-green legged variants while maintaining uniform, devastating fighting styles.

DSA developed the Oakgrove Vandamme line in the early 80’s when Jean- Claude Van Damme was making waves in films like Bloodsport, etc. Thus, he coined the name: Oakgrove Vandamme Hatch - given the power, gameness and cutting abilities of his breeding.

In 1994, when Eugene Brown died in the U.S., Kuya Joe A acquired again the same Oakgrove Hatch bloodlines from the son Gene Brown – where he got the “19-straight wins” line where 19 stag brothers of Oakgroves won in all their fights in the U.S.

Through these many years of intensive breeding and strict selection process, Kuya Joe and Kuya Danny have both removed the impurities and bad genes of the Oakgrove Hatch bloodline and have bred and maintained them within the family to be pure, healthy, and robust – which makes them very good and potent broodcocks and fighting warriors that can be fought very pure.

These were the origins of the Dragon Warrior Gamefarm Oakgrove Hatch family of game fowls which we started to acquire for breeding and fighting purposes since the early 1995s and almost every year thereafter.   Almost every year, we would acquire new blood coming from the same families of the Yellow Legged Hatch Oakgrove-Captain line and the Green Legged Oakgrove Hatch-Vandamme line to further improve and purify the genes of our own families of DWGF Oakgrove Hatch families.

We intend to preserve all the above beautiful and quality foundation bloodlines we got from Kuya Joe and Kuya Danny into the future by using the breeding techniques that they have generously imparted to our DWGF farm as close  friends. We are honored to continue their legacy of breeding excellence with these very resilient foundation lines that they has kept as pure as possible through meticulous selection, breeding and culling.  The Dragon Warrior Gamefarm in Lipa City, Batangas will pursue this tradition of excellence in breeding that was started many years ago by Eugene Brown in the U.S. and since 1980s Kuya Joe and Kuya Danny!

We will continue to breed “Champions” now and going into the future!

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
