DWGF Duke Hulsey Reds

(Hulsey Lemons) & Hulsey Grey

The Duke Hulsey Reds are the oldest bloodlines in our Dragon Warrior Gamefarm that came from our friend, breeding mentor and adviser, Kuya Joe Alimbuyuguen - being a year 1961 vintage when the first imported pair arrived from Duke Hulsey of the United States as acquired by Mr Jun Vera through Peping Fernandez - who was then close to Duke Hulsey (the JJA Duke Hulsey greys only arrived in the Philippines in 1983.) The Hulsey Reds are good breakers with very good timing, cutting, and evasiveness when they fight.

They are best to cross with DWGF Oakgrove hatches, Clarets, Roundheads and Gulls (almost same fighting style).

They come light color or lemon colored Hulsey Reds or dark red Hulseys!  Females are usually green legs and males are yellow legs.  Breeding the Hulseys Reds had been a challenge because of

“deppressions” resulting from too much inbreeding of the bloodline within the same family.  We are very fortunate to be able to breed this very rare and authentic Duke Hulsey red bloodlines in our DWGF farm in Lipa City, Batangas.

The Duke Hulsey Greys of Dragon Warrior Gamefarm has been bred since Feb 1983 or more than 36 years ago, when the original pure Duke Hulsey Greys TRIO was imported from the U.S. by Kuya Joe A.  The pure Trio was composed of a brood cock which was straight comb and green leg, one hen was a pea-comb yellow leg and one hen was pea-comb green leg. The Dragon Warrior Gamefarm has continued the tradition of breeding this excellent winning bloodline into the future through the families acquired from Kuya Joe A. The Hulsey greys and Hulsey reds are intelligent fighters which are also “angat sarado.”  From this family of bloodline can be traced the origins of the Hulsey greys and the Lemons that became famous with Bacolod breeders and the whole Philippines.
