Our Story

The Dragon Warrior Gamefarm was established out of the intense passion for breeding game fowls that started as a backyard hobby. It was also an inherited fervor from our family's grandfather and uncles--gamefowl breeding was really in our genes.

Since 1990, the pursuit of excellence and learning, and the time spent over the many years to slowly establish the farm gives us full satisfaction as it was indeed a very difficult and long process due to the limited resources and time.

This family hobby has become something that we can be proud of.  Just enough for us to enjoy and share with friends while helping many other people along the way. Through hard work, good luck, and team effort, the Dragon Warrior Gamefarm has evolved into a complete game fowl breeding farm that we can show for friends to enjoy.

When you visit the farm, you will find the scenic mountain views and verdant greens of Mount Malarayat mountain range that surrounds the farm. You will enjoy the aerial views of the farm and will notice  that it has complete facilities like no other--the many 20-feet long flying and running pens, as well as the vertical pens that are perfectly laid-out to allow simultaneous exercises and conditioning of game fowl warriors in the farm.

Aside from the usual indoor keeping pens, we also have several outdoor resting pens that are all-weather-proof.  Furthermore, the farm has other innovations like their versions of the “M-box” or multi-purpose pens that can be used as breeding pens, scratching pens, chick pens, dust bath pens or for other purposes in the farm. The Dragon Warrior Gamefarm has a very good location at about 1,200 feet above sea level just below the majestic slopes of Mount Malarayat in Lipa City, Batangas.

We believe that the elevation, generally cool weather, the many trees, the fertility of the soil, and strategic location of the farm complement the very good bloodlines foundation, experienced DWGF team members, and the modern facilities of the farm, to allow us to produce superior, healthy, and excellent warriors that perform well in the pits of various competitions.

The farm has an inherent advantage of being accessible from Metro Manila through the Southern Tagalog Arterial Road (STAR) Tollway and South Luzon Expressways (SLEX) that connects Lipa City via the Balete Exit or the Tambo Exits of the STAR Tollway system – with a total distance of about 75 to 77 kilometers from Magallanes area of the SLEX or from 1 hour to 1 ½ hours of travel by car.

The farm has also won various championships and derby competitions. We didn’t realize that our warriors can compete with the big boys even as we competed as a backyard hobby. We started with simple hack fights such that the farm handlers got to scour the many cockpits of Metro Manila until nobody wanted to fight our chickens on a fair weight basis anymore! There was a time that we fought 28 straight hack fights, and won 25 fights, with 2 draws and 1 loss only.

Since then, we were also very fortunate to win some very tough competitions-- where you are fighting mostly imported cocks or stags or warriors from imported bloodlines from the United States.

Aside from the thrill and excitement that this gentleman’s sport brings, another benefit is that you get to meet a lot of people and breeders from the whole country and from abroad, who are also seriously involved in this national sport of the country. Where else can you find a sport where you can be sitting next to a Congressman, Governor or Mayor or VIP people as co-equals?

Over the years, we didn’t expect that we will have loyal followers and friends who would visit us for the game fowls and bloodlines in our farm for their own use or breeding, too.  Thus, we were able to slowly improve and provide the best facilities and farm land area that we wanted to allow us to take care and breed the tough Dragon Warriors that we had wanted.

It is our belief that you can really learn a lot from the experience of other people and breeders or cock fighters as well, aside from your own experimentations in breeding.  Thus, we are grateful to our many breeding friends who had shared important information and lessons through their experience, their winning bloodlines and breeding and rearing techniques unselfishly to our farm. We at the Dragon Warrior Gamefarm firmly believe that the principles of farm cleanliness, bio-security, natural training, good nutrition from the breeding season until stags or cocks are prepared for competition, and continuous selective breeding and culling, and the use of  high quality and tested breeding materials as foundation bloodlines - will bring ultimate success to our passion in life.

We only use tested and high quality bloodlines and breeding materials that come from very reliable and experienced breeders in the country and the U.S.  When we mean tested, it means that a bloodline has been proven to be a winning line in actual competitions in the local derby scene.

We foresee that the Philippines will be the center of the game fowl breeding industry and competitions in Asia and the World as many Filipinos excel in breeding game fowls and dominate the world competitions.  Our various game fowl associations all over the country should work and lobby for the promotion of this national sport not only in the country but also in the other countries of the world. The national game fowl associations must also lobby so that this truly genuine Filipino industry that creates thousands of jobs all over the country, will be allowed to export our excellent game fowls to the United States and other parts of the World.  Isn’t it unfair that U.S. breeders can export their breeding materials to the Philippines while Filipino breeders cannot because of very stringent U.S. rules and regulations?

The world is moving towards a free world economy where goods and services should be easily available from one country to another without much taxes and other restrictive regulations.  This will be the future of the Filipino game fowl breeders and industry, as we know for a fact that Filipinos already excel in producing world class game fowl vitamins, game fowl feeds and nutrition, and game fowl bloodlines that can beat the best of the world!  Keep on cocking and breeding dear friends! Mabuhay ang Pilipino!

We give our heartfelt thanks and gratitude to our friend and breeding mentor, master breeder Kuya Joe Alimbuyuguen, who gave us the inspiration and technical know how to develop a world class gamefowl breeding facility at Dragon Warrior Gamefarm, Lipa City, Batangas. We will forever be grateful to Kuya Joe for entrusting to our farm since 1994 - all his best and complete gamefowl breeding bloodlines that he has meticulously perfected over more than 35 years of breeding, together with Kuya Danny Arruejo.

We also thank our many gamefowl breeding friends for their breeding insights and know how, their bloodlines,  technical advice and assistance,  their support, and friendship that made this sport enjoyable and helped us reach where we are now.

Lastly, we are very grateful and thankful to our Lord Almighty and Jesus Christ, our Savior and Protector, our light and guide to eternal life - for all the graces and blessings received and that we continue to receive for our DWGF gamefarm, for all our hard working people, for all our winning bloodlines, and all our friends and loved ones who continue to support and help us in this passion of ours in life.
